Solve this..
◻➕◻➕◻➕◻➕◻=30
Fill the boxes using (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15)
U can also repeat the numbers..This question came in UPSC Final Exams held in dec '13...... You will be glad to note that only Sarthak Agarwal could solve it.

Answer
There is que. saying that 'use the number' not saying that 'put the numbers' so if we r using the numbers the ans. Is.....
(5+1)+(7-1)+(13-1)+(3+1)+(3-1)=30
( 3-5) + (11-1) + (15-5) + (13-3) + (9-7)
ReplyDelete= -2 + 10 +10 + 10 + 2
= 30
Using all the numbers
Zacharia :)
(3!)*5
ReplyDeleteAgr aisa kre to
ReplyDelete3+3+3+3+3=30
taking factorial in L.H.S.
SO
3!+3!+3!+3!+3!
3×2+ 3×2+ 3×2+ 3×2+ 3×2
6+6+6+6+6
=30
=>
ReplyDeletethere is two type of solution
1st one is by proving L.H.S = R.H.S.
means left hand side = Right hand side
so
takingthat one no. Is x
so
15+15+15+15+ x =30……equ no. (1)
60 + x = 30
x = 30-60
x= -30
now put the value of x in equ n. (1)
so the eqquation will become
15+15+15+15-30=30
nnow taking;
lleft hand side
=> 15+15+15+15-30
=> 60-30
=> 30
and now right hannd side is
also 30
so its proved that
left hand side=right hand side
so the final ans is 30....
Y u used x hea ??
DeleteDey clearly maintioned above dat u hav to use d givn numbers onli
but there r only boxes...???
Delete2nd soluution is
ReplyDeletethat
in ur question
there is only one conditon that is
we can repeat the nummbers so
lets see
howw is it possible
(5-3)+(9-5)+(9-1)+(7-1)+(11-1)
so
(2)+(4)+(8)+(6)+(10)
=30 Ans………
3 weeks + 7 days + 11 hours + 13 hours + 1 day = 30 days.
ReplyDeleteProblem?
(11-1) + (13-3) + (15-5) = 30
ReplyDeleteou
(1+9) + (3+7) + (5+5) = 30
Speaking from a continental Europe (Czech Republic) point of view: We use decimal comma instead of point, therefore, cutting the sequence of the numbers slightly differently could help, for example: 1,3+5,7+9+11+3
ReplyDeleteNeat, huh? Even math can be language-bound :)
Your are not allowed to use +/- */:. Only 1,3,..15
ReplyDeleteWell, the + signs are there, aren't they?
DeleteHow about rotating the 9 to be 6, it will be as easy as 6 + 1 +3 +9 +11 =30
ReplyDeleteThey asked to use the numbers but never said to use them in the exact orientation

ReplyDeleteMy guess would have been
ReplyDelete[9.3] + [15.7] + [5] = 30
It's a logical question not a mathematical one
ReplyDeletejust add 3 before any box... they have not asked to fill box....
ReplyDelete30+0+0+0+0=30
3 weeks + 7 days + 11 hours + 13 hours + 1 day = 30 days...
ReplyDeleteThis must b the right answer. Simple logic..but great thinkers only can find...
15+11+1+1+1=30 in base9 number system,
ReplyDelete11+11+1+1+1=30 in base5 number system, etc.
13,7+15,3+1=30
ReplyDeletesays use what is in Parentheses
ReplyDelete15 + 15 + , = 30
15 + 15 + , + , + , = 30
ReplyDelete15+13+(3-1)=30
ReplyDelete15+13+log(base 3) 9 =30
